SALT + WATER
At Aqua-Cell Energy, our founding members studied the rise of novel membrane technologies used in water treatment. They realized that by reversing the process, this technology could be harnessed to store and retrieve electrical energy powered by simple materials: salt + water.
By combining the technological advancements in water treatment with our proprietary innovations, we have done what was previously unthinkable – demonstrating a sustainable salt water battery that works at scale. Since our battery stack is made from membranes already mass produced in the water treatment industry, we moved from lab-scale testing to a full-scale stack faster than any other company.
